Cape Town

Sitting at the hotel the last night in South Africa after a wonderful weekend with our partner church Cape Orange Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa. Because ther are no dots to put over the a and o, I write in English. Hope you don't mind.

It is very hot here, around +30. Today I have been with my bishop to Robben Island, as always a shaking experience. You feel that RI:s museum over man's cruelty just doesn't fit in in the beautiful sceanery of Cape Town. Especially this year when everything here is about football. Our hotel is neighbouring the hudge football stadium of the World Cup in June.

A team from Harnosand diocese has been gathered with the pastors of our partner diocese for joint discussions on diaconal matters. Our bishop Tuulikki has been introduced to our friends and was vividly appreciated for her sermon on Wednesday night. The Director Ninni Smedberg from Varsta diaconal institute has given a very good teaching.

And myself, I have met a lot of friends and collages whom I hardly know,
but love.

Tomorrow we will return home from south to north, from warm to cold, from friends to friends, from one church to another, united in Christ.
